Kate said no. I realize there is a ton more in this chapter. *hugs Matt tight*

Kate said no. I didn't think she would say yes.. but I'd hoped a little bit for his sake.

Very interesting twist that planet is different for each person landing there. Also, I'm loving the awesome buddy flick quality of Brem and Matt. *squishes them both*

*sigh* I love this world. :)

PS. I edited this so much I'm not sure it makes sense any more so just to be sure I get my point across ME LIKEY.

Ah, yes, Kate said no. I tried to slide that in there. ;-)

And hahahaha! I love that you describe them as having a "buddy flick quality." That delights me. Brem and Matt have travelled together, and they've had adventures, and I bet they're great fun.

First, YAY for a new chapter!!
Second, Kate said no? :( That makes me sad. I mean, I know not everyone can be Rose and the Doctor, but still... Not even for a bit?
Third, LOL at the Bou toupee line.
Fourth (this is turning out longer than I originally thought it would be), I'm with the Doctor. OOD?!? I'm hoping they're just there to get him, like at the end of TWoM, and NOT because Theenie was dating an Ood.
Fifth, oh Matt. I love his fixation on the DVD's as a kind of substitute for the real problem. Which leads me to...
Lastly (finally), WHY DID YOU NOT FIX THEM YET??!?! I second ginamak's comment about that.

I promise there will be a story about Kate. Everyone is being very patient about it, and I am bring cruel, but I promise to eventually write and post it.

There is lots not fixed in this chapter: Matt, Athena, ood... ;-)

love, Love, LOVE! this chapter! So many things I want to quote and talk about. I'm going to have to tone it down a bit I think.

Okay, first, I LOVE the not so subtle parallel between the Doctor and Brem. Having them both start out with almost the same exact thought process was brilliant. I love it when you can see just how alike they are. Very nicely done.

It is VERY worrying that Cunodys was destroyed when Brem got there. Most worrying indeed. I'm glad Brem didn't just charge forth without back up and I'm SO glad he went to visit Matt. Somehow I think Matt very much needed a visit from his best friend.

The conversation about the DVD's was amusing even though it was also very sad. Poor Matt. I love how he automatically blames Brem. And how Brem just accepts it. LOLOLOL.

THIS Was hands down the BEST line in the story: “I would follow her anywhere. I would spend every minute I have chasing after her through time and space. What does she not understand about that? There is nothing in my life here that is nearly as important as ( ... )

"I'm going to have to tone it down a bit I think."

BWAH! I wasn't very successful I that, was I?

Why don't they just work *together*? EXACTLY! I suspect that until they DO work together things will remain a mystery. That, or one of them will do something stupid that will end up getting them hurt. *thinks of Brem and the Daleks in the prologue... eep!*

I really think he has. A lot. But Athena didn't take him seriously. Yes, true. But he hasn't said anything RECENTLY. And recently Athena has started to have mini revelations so maybe she would actually listen now...

This is so true. Matt needs to have a chat with Rose... Yes! THIS! I trust you will make this happen. I think Rose would offer Matt some very valuable insight because a) she's lived with a Time Lord and Time Children for many, many years now, and b) she knows Athena better than anyone else does. C) she'd understand what Matt is going through.

Someday, I promise! ;-) *sits on hands and tries to wait patently...*

I honestly don't know. it's inspiring none-the-less

"And recently Athena has started to have mini revelations so maybe she would actually listen now..."

This is true, but Matt really has no idea and he really is keen not to be rejected again.

"Sometimes I wonder if the Doctor remembers how lonely he was now that he's had such an amazing family for so long."

He actually has forgotten a lot of it, which is a wonderful development and makes Rose very happy, but sometimes the Doctor does feel some guilt over how far he's come. For instance, in "Surprise," when it suddenly occurs to him that he's stopped punishing himself.

Awwww, a later read of the next chapter means the chapter after next will come more quickly, right?

As usual, I love the interaction between Matt and Brem. I love that Matt was able to tell Brem he just wasn't up to being the right hand man right now. It seems like the mark of just how much trust they have in their friendship, which makes me feel squishy. EVEN IF ATHENA AND MATT ARE CURRENTLY A TEENY BIT BROKEN.

The Doctor's reaction to Athena dating an Ood in comparison with Rose just pointing out the tentacles makes me laugh. You've come a long way, baby. (I don't think I could be so understanding of my daughter's tentacle love. I'm species-ist like that. The alien should at least look Time Lord.)

I love having regular updates from you to look forward to, but at the same time I really want to know what happens next ASAP. Oi.

It's true, that Matt and Brem are extremely comfortable friends. Neither feels it necessary to pretend with the other, which they need. Brem has two little sisters, but not a ton of friends, and Matt is an only child, so in a way they fulfill a brotherly role for each other that they are both missing.

And Rose has gotten to be open-minded. Plus, she knows Jack. Omnisexuality and all that. ;-)

Oh dear! Or should that be Ooood dear! This is very ominous.

Love the Brem/Matt relationship. And the COAT! You know, we need a Brem action figure. With coat, of course. Or perhaps a coat action figure with optional Brem accessory?

Time Lords, including female Time Lords, seem seriously clueless about relationships. I mean, they are positively thick! From Thicksville! Athena! Catch the clue bus already! FIX THIS!!!

And please PLEASE one of these days tell us what really happened with Kate and Brem.

Oh, the Ood puns! ;-)

Hahahaha! I love the idea that it would be a coat action figure with an optional Brem accessory! I think Brem would approve of that, too!

But yes, Time Lords all have a gene that makes them terrible at relationships. It's mostly that they just *think* differently than humans do.

And yes, I promise to someday get all of you the Brem/Kate fic. I've been torturing you with this for far too long!
