Time for another "I'm still here!" post

Too busy to breathe, this last month. Back to work, back to school, the performances of My Fair Lady were just last weekend, and now we're at older daughter's 14th birthday. The parenting thing has been up and down, trying to sort out how much is tiredness and work and normal teenage conflict, and how much is genuinely problematic and unhealthy ( Read more... )

Yikes. Teenage trouble. I doubt there's anything to worry about, though. I'm sure it's something that every parent panics about at some point!

...hopefully he won't be an exception, he'll be the leader of a new trend.

Yeah... It's been five years now since Jack's debut, though. Still waiting.

There's a character on White Collar, Diana, who is apparently incidentally lesbian. She just is, no one makes a big deal of it, no one's learning a SPECIAL LESSON ABOUT TOLERANCE from her, she isn't suffering or dying. Maybe that's a step forward.

You're right there, actually. Last year there was a lesbian on "Flashforward", but it was rather thrown at the audience, with a truly awful makeout scene. "White Collar" mentions Diana's sexuality occasionally, but only in the same way it does everybody else's. She's a great character, actually. Truly dreadful American accent, but a great character!

Not quite as much fun as a swaggeringly bisexual swashbuckling hero, though...
