The funeral went well yesterday, but it was a very long day. Four hours driving up, about four hours at the church/cemetary, and about four hours driving back. We got back to Hazlehurst at about midnight, so I slept there then got up early and drove the hour and a half to get to my first class. In about an hour I'm leaving Hazlehurst to go to my Grandmother's funeral in north Georgia. I'm not really certain what to expect. Since we knew early last week that she was not going to make it much farther, and since I am away from my family, it really hasn't had much of an emotional impact on me. I've got a side job painting at someone's house that I'm going to start on today. I'm just going to work a few hours at a time after work just about every day until I get it done. I read "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis tonight. It was a good read. There were a few spots where I disagreed with his theology or got a little bit lost in what he was trying to say, but, for the most part, his arguments made sense and meshed well with what I believe. I had a good Independence day weekend. I went to Fernandina beach with my family on Monday, which was fun. Then Tuesday I went to Waycross and visited with my grandparents and watched fireworks. Saw Cars tonight. It was pretty good. Glad that I went and saw it because Hazlehurst is already boring me and driving to Vidalia, watching the movie, and driving back to Hazlehurst left me with four less hours to try and amuse myself at home.
