i've been taking "strolls" as my roommate likes to say. these little walks happen at night, usually around 12 or so. i take my ipod out and walk around campus, observing everything and listening to sweet tunes. its time for personal reflection, but more importantly it makes me feel more like a living human being than anything. such intimacy

i enjoyed this entry too :). i really wish it was as easy for me to take midnight "strolls" (haha, cleveland), but i've got to be worried about getting raped.
i know exactly what you mean about being so brave about steeping yourself in new places until that time actually comes. i was disappointed about coming to UA, thinking that it wouldn't be far away enough from home to make it a new experience, but i find myself homesick and going home almost every weekend. when you do finally get away, it will be hard, but an amazing growing experience; just like this year was... and the friends that really matter will care enough to stick around, even if it has to be long distance.

I've been grappling with that idea a lot lately. I'm still trying to accept that I have to and will move away to a place where I know no one. It's nice here, but not enough.
