Driving to and from my mom's place in Morehead City each and every day during all of the hullabaloo has meant extra time to think fic-related thoughts. Which brings me to my latest request for input from my insightful friends here in LJ-Land ( Read more... )

AFF: Adult Fanfiction.net Kiki has an account there and has posted a couple things. I haven't created an account there myself, but I might in time. They have a good number of authors, and has a review system. Here is the URL if you want to check it out. http://www.adultfanfiction.net/

I have on my site: Turning Point; Fateful Encounters; Happy Birthday, Baby; Best Wishes, Gojyo; Gentle Reassurances; Afterglow; Opening Night; and Interruptus. I have always planned on putting up CNR but haven't gotten around to it yet. Also on my hard drive I have Shattering, Coitus, Iron Chef Saiyuki Style (as far as you posted), and Neutral Territory (as far as was posted). I'm willing to host anything you might like to offer, it just might not be as timely a post as you would like, especially once school starts. Although if I know I have stuff to go up, I might work on my site more. ^_~

I really appreciate the URL, Yanagi! I've checked AFF out and find it to be somewhat unsatisfying, but that doesn't mean I won't set up a page there eventually.

As for your site having a bunch of my older stuff---COOL! I'm impressed as always and am reminded how incredibly grand you made my one and only "Earthian" fic look there. {dreamy smile about "Turning Point"}

As far as adding CNR or other stuff goes, that's fabulous, too. I really ought to force myself to review "Coitus" and attempt to finish it someday, but as for poor "Neutral Territory"... well, it's overwhelming to even consider right now.

After I wrote that response... I spent the day getting 30 chapters of CNR ready to go up on my site. I'm sitting down to do some more. I always had intentions of posting it... just hadn't had the kick in the rear to get going I guess. ^_~

Wowzers! You're really trying to get that massive fic of mine posted to your site?! That's amazing! When you get it there---no rush, mind you, take your time---let me know so I can post a link on whatever is my latest post, okay?

{huggles friend happily and is amazed to have such grand cohorts online}

Visits from either Chibi bring hidden gifts and are often priceless gifts too. Hmm. How many more fic titles can i work into a comment? BTs, mindless trivia that I just looked up the hit counter at your page at Gwaddiction is 178,000.

Besides AFFnet, you could also set up another account at mediaminer.

Can foamy be a friend with beer-chan?

Fic titles worked into average conversation are fun. Believe it or not, I worked "Karmic Backlash" into a discussion at the DHoC this week. It really fit and no one but me knew I was being such a smartass.

Your point about a new account at MM.org really made a strong impression on me, hence the new username poll. See? I listen to you a lot more than you thought, ne?

Hmmm.... Foamy (a socially rabid squirrel) and Beer-chan (an alcoholic um, glass of beer?) together? How frightening would THAT be?!? ^_____^

Yanagi got you the site address that is cool. LOL I should have known she'd beat me to it. I just checked it out, not heavily but I opened an account. They have a lot of legal stuff you need to read through first but it looks good from what I read. It doesn't look like something that would be hard for you, me or most of the net authors I know to deal with but it would cover the bases so that we wouldn't have to worry about what happened at FF.

I have Romantic Resolutions and several other stories on my hard drive if you need any of them. I'll do up a list of what I've got and get it to you.

Enjoy your time with Amanda! We can wait patiently for the Llama's return... as demonstrated. Remember, time for yourself everyday, whatever you can get. Rest and keep in mind we are here when you need us.

By the by I've seen that character probably in pictures or icons but I don't know who it is.

Yay. someone has Romantic Resolutions where a line about "angry gang members" spawned CNR.

Yatta!!!! e_sama August 5 2007, 19:15:45 UTC
Darling Cat, you've got a copy of "Romantic Resolutions"?!? Super!!!!

{massive huggles of appreciation and then a shy smile to ask}

Would you mind emailing it to me sometime? I'll probably end up editing it and then posting it to MM.org on the new account, but at least it would be out there again.

As for the legal stuff at AFF, yeah, I read every word of it. Including the part where they make you swear you aren't a cop trying to prosecute people for using their First Amendment rights.

{instead of ranting, the llama bows gratefully and adds}

Feel free to take your time on that list. I will be insanely grateful to you for it and will hopefully not make you regret offering your assistance.

{planning to run an URL for Foamy eventually, the llama rushes off to finish a few things before going back to his mom's for more family-related BS}

AFF is a good place for only R and NC-17 fanfics though it has given me problems in the past (the site got wonky sometimes). I created an account there a long time but haven't updated in forever. If you want, you can also make an LJ community or new journal for just your writing. These days, that's where I post new writing: in my writing journal. There are also AdultFanfic communities over here. I can't think of any names off the top of my head but I'm sure if you search the interests, you might find one.

Good idea! e_sama August 5 2007, 19:19:55 UTC
Those are excellent ideas, Carter.

I'd considered the LJ option but wasn't sure of character limits or other size restrictions, but maybe that's less of a problem now than it used to be. If that's the direction I end up going in, you can bet I'll research it to death like usual.

::tilts head to one side::

AFF is a good site - it had a kerfluffle or two during an ownership turnover way back, but things appear to have settled for the better if they're making you read through tons of stuff before creating an account.

I've got an account there, under the author name Starshadow. And ::turns beet red:: an online copy of my first-ever written m/m lemon, for the manga/anime series Shadow Skill. I admit to all its faults, but I enjoyed the writing of it as nothing before or since, even if I spent the entire process with burning cheeks. Seriously!

Given all the fussing currently going on about LJ's current handling of the "objectionable content in journals" controversy, hosting your fiction away from here is a good safeguard against having your journal deleted without warning.

You're completely correct about finding a safe home elsewhere to post my fanfiction. There are too many knee-jerk conservatives trying to be the Big Brother that 1984 warned us all about.

As for that first and only lemon of yours... {smiles sweetly and yet there's a hint of desire beneath it carefully masked by a thin veil of patience as the llama says}

I'll really enjoy reading that when I get some of the anime viewed. Frankly, all of the best fanfiction---including citrus---is better when there's a good understanding of the characters involved. And that holds true for both writer and reader.
