So, Socks in September...

It's been a bit hectic but I did finally finish the third pair of shorty socks today.   There's a long story behind that, but it's almost bedtime, so I'll just show you what they look like  in several views taken in the kitchen with flash.

Sand has so many colors...where I saw it, as a kid (South Texas beach; the "ocean" was the Gulf of Mexico) it was pale gold, almost white. Dry sand up on the dunes in midday *did* look white, but later on I saw coral sand that was really white. Wet sand, near the water, was sort of beige, in various shades. I have seen pictures of red sand, pink sand, gray sand, brown sand, and black sand, but the only red or pink sand I've been on was in very dry country, in the Southwest. I've never been on black sand.

Yarn ends are woven in, socks ready for first full day of wearing. That will be tomorrow unless it gets really chilly (when I want the taller socks on.)
