jackson just got them too. so not a big deal this time.
when lily got them a couple of years ago? huuuuuuuuuuuge trauma for me. she'd had them for months apparently, and her hair was long, long, long. i spent god knows how many hours picking nits out.
My hair is long and thick -- I've got a lot of it. And I'm not cutting it off. Hopefully, however, there won't be several months of nit-picking ahead of me.
I once saw a figure which measured the total weight of parasites living on or in our bodies. But lice are not nice. I hope you manage to get to your year end wrap up.
go through all your hair strand by strand in bright light every day or so for the next few weeks. really. experience tells me that just when you think you got all the fuckers, they hatch out more. i tried the natural route, i also tried the chemical route. know what worked? going through their hair strand by strand every day or so for a few weeks.

Kids and head lice ! What fun. I got them once from my gf's kids and shaved my head. Well, I was rather buddhist at the time too. Once another gf gave me crabs. She caught them from changing the sheets in a hotel where she worked. They 'took root' in her (furry) armpit, then migrated to our crotches. What fun shaving each other's rudes and painting them blue.

Yeah, this parenting thing, I don't know...
And it seems that the little fuckers are somewhat resistant to the chemicals, so stage two of louse battle is commencing. I could just cut it all off, but my hair is perhaps the one thing about which I am terribly vain.
