So, many of you know that I used to write for The Link, one of the student papers at Concordia. And that one of my tasks at work these days, is to read each article in the paper and index them in a database, so that we can search them in the future ( Read more... )

The A for ally is definitely the one that annoys me the most.

Oh, and I predict the next letters we'll be seeing are P and S, in that order, for Pansexual (I'm seeing more and more people talking about trying to decide whether they're "bisexual or pansexual," treating them as very distinct concepts rather than a more and less PC-version of the same thing) and then "Sapiosexual" (for the same reasons, but that word is a more recent invention that will take a little longer to catch on).

I could certainly see pansexual coming on board sometime soon, too...

Sorry kiyomisan September 28 2004, 20:13:33 UTC
Aw Joshy!!!

I'm so sorry. I know I only went to one game, but it makes me really sad all the same. Go tomorrow, take tons of photos, and never forget the nostalgia. P.S. When I'm rich and famous, I'll buy a NEW team for MTL--I swear! And they'll stick sport Youppi as their mascot! I'll make sure of it.

I'm glad I'm not alone in my sorrow. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

Sorry for running off on your birthday, incidentally. I'll make it up to you somehow...

Holy Carp! gregorama September 28 2004, 20:14:36 UTC
Eventually the labels will get so precise and individual that e'll do something crazy...like calling people by their names!

Just one reason why politics and activism just turn me off. Way too many irrational people to please.

I'm sorry, but I don't expect admiration for being queer. Do we want people to treat us just like everyone else, or do we want special treatment? Let's make up our minds, and speak with one friggin' voice sometime soon, okay?

Josh, you and gregorama are fucking geniuses. I've tried to say what you've just said before, but it wasn't nearly as coherent. Thanks for taking what was in my brain and saying it in a way that actually makes sense. I tell ya, that whole thing really is insidious.

And yeah, I'm sorry about the demise of the Expos...at least their present form. At least when I left my Dodgers, it was me leaving them and not the other way around. Being dumped always hurts twice as much.

When you come to visit, we'll catch some baseball.

I don't wanna go and see baseball. I hate baseball! Baseball sucks! :p

My view on the whole queer issue is and always has been... we're the ones who are "normal". And that's because we accept what we feel and deal with it. I don't want special treatment. I just don't want to live in fear for who I am.

And secondly, my heart goes out to you about the Expos. May I reccommend being a Pirate fan? You can come visit me in the 'Burgh and we'll get the cheap seats.

I'm really thinking about the Pirates. I'd love to go to that ballpark. It looks gorgeous.

PNC Park is absolutely gorgeous.

The only problem for me is that my balance is for shit and someone has to hold my hand on the way to the seats so I don't topple all the way down to the field. *shrug*
