Friends, when do you prefer shirts tucked? When do you prefer them untucked?

I ask because I've been catching myself more and more tucking my shirts in and... not hating it. And it's weird.

I just wanna clap my hands to this song for the rest of the workday:

I don't like them tucked in on me or on men, ever. I'll tolerate them on men for a suit or tux or some such, but unless the guy has no gut, I think it looks horrid and is very aging on most guys.

See sometimes I find tucking looks better than letting an ill-sized/formed shirt hang out.

If the waist didn't hit where it does, I wouldn't mind but to me it just really emphasizes the gut. I like the look when it's just nicely flowing and sort of bleeds into the slacks as far as the layers go. It reminds me too much of FUPA, which is bad enough on women and worse on men.

you've been around Emily too long, Josh. Don't start getting/dressing old before your time!

I guess if the shirt is a bit too long and you're wearing something else over top. Like, if I'm wearing a sweater overtop and you can't see the bottom of the tucked in shirt anyway, then I'll tuck in the bottom shirt.

I think tucking in really depends on the shirt. I have no idea what the general rule for it is!

I think we need to see pictures to really decide.

This is a fair request. I will consider it.
