I know exactly where I was when that goal was made. I was on my couch talking to lorileeann on the phone. I was in mid-sentence, a sentence that got interrupted by "ah...fuck....fuck....was that Cindy Fucking Crosby? Fuck...it was. I HATE CINDY CROSBY!"
I heard that the ratings for the game were only surpassed this year by the Superbowl and the College National Championship football game. It pulled a 17 share and I don't know if this is accurate but someone on the radio said that this is the equivelent of 1 in 3 TVs were tuned into it.
I don't have a problem with fighting in hockey but I acknowledge that it would be a higher quality game with out it. You'd have the most talented players on the ice instead of enforcers trolling about.
I do really enjoy a fight that breaks out right at the drop of the first puck though, one that was planned to right a past wrong. hehe.
I just hate that people (hardcore hockey fans, anyway) actually try to justify fights like they actually are relevant to the outcome of the game. They'll say that they swing momentum or some shit. It's the reasoning behind it that I think gets under my skin more than anything else.
i was in the living room with dad and adam, we all cheered and yelled, it was thrilling!! sydney used to play a league ahead of adam's younger brother so adam's mom "knows" him, i'm glad we weren't watching with her because she HATES him.
i really loved that harper and other politicians were at the games, it's nice to see our politicians involved in the things that (most) everyone loves! how much do you think jack layton paid some random for that seat at the bar, haha.
I like my NHL with a bit of fighting, I gotta admit. But I could do without the 'designated goons' like Brashear, who can't really skate. The best thing they could do to improve the game would be to remove one row of seats from each building, and extend the ice surface so it's a little closer to International dimensions. =)

I'm not sure if I support the bigger ice. I used to, but after watching this Olympics played on normal NHL ice, I think that great hockey is more likely on the small ice.
