At my polling station tonight, for the first time in my life I had to wait in line to vote. For like, 20 minutes or so. Then another 15 or so in the 'not on the list' line ( Read more... )

It's super convenient for us ... Our polling station is in our buildings party room :) I handed over my voter card and license, took my ballot, marked the 'x', and dropped it in the box. It took Trev and i both maybe 3 mins.

Once Joan became wheelchair bound, we started using the advance polls. I have continued to do this on my own. When I went to the advance poll, I was the only voter there. I would have been in and out in a minute if I hadn't stopped to admire one of the polling officer's handwriting. Have you ever done that? Just stopped to admire a flowing hand where all the letters are beautiful and legible? It really doesn't matter as to what the words are.
