It's funny, despite what Ari Fleischer says, I don't remember seeing 1.18 billion people out demonstrating in support of this war. Maybe he means that about 40 old men who happen to be heads of state support this war. That Bush wants war doesn't mean that 280 million (or whatever) Americans do ( Read more... )

That's a funny statistic considering that most of the demonstrations on my campus have been against the war :oP

here's some math fun:
40 old men in support of the war * number of times they flap their jaws * loudness of nonsensical jaw-flapping = seems like 1.18 billion. hehe

haha Hey, we're out here. And we're not all old men. :)

Some of us don't really feel the need to go out and protest, or go out and "wave the flag," as the case may be. There are people who are secure enough in their decisions, or secure enough in their opinions, that they can sit back and watch protesters in San Francisco act like idiots instead.

But, dude, for him to say that 1.18 billion people support this war is like saying 1 billion Chinese support communism. To say either of those things, using that particular brand of logic, is simply a lie.

Ahh yes, I see what you're saying. But then again, it's equally false for some bandanna-wearing folks up in Frisco to be holding up signs saying that that 3 billion do not support the war. We'll never know either way.

And besides, if you're in Iraq you aren't allowed to have your own opinion of the war anyway. Which is a small part of the reason we're in there in the first place.
