And I'm really glad you're learning to drive- and at such a comfortable pace!

Oh I still freeze when I see other cars. lol The car doesn't move when I see another car anywhere near when I'm driving. I'm really glad that bin was there between the car and the side of his father's house. =/ And that the bin was plastic and not metal or something.

Practicing driving with a calm person makes all the difference -- I got my license "late" (age 23) because I drove 4 wheeled vehicles badly and made folks nervous when they tried to teach me in high school (strangely enough, I learned to drive a friend's Vespa in about 30 minutes without any problems with balance, controls, speed, swerving, etc). I just relied upon public transit for a while and then tried driving again, paying for my own lessons with a stranger -- this time I was able to relax and stay focused.

Thanks! Me too! Like Mars (papi) said I think I just need more time and to feel comfy with it. I have yet to go over 8 or so mph. lol

Yeah, in NY is not uncommon for someone to learn "late." I've had no need all this time with our mass transit system. also my brother has been claiming he'll teach me for years. I was about ready to start saving to pay for lessons. But I really think I just need time behind the wheel.

As everyone said, it takes practice. Just try to stay relaxed while driving. :)
