Do you mind explaining it to me? Because I honestly can't understand why not having sex should be considered something special unless one is associating it with "purity." And that association is really arbitrary. It's about the same as basing not having driven a car with "purity."

It's just a feeling. That's it. Yes, I do feel more innocent as a virgin. It probably has to do with my unique experience, but yea, I loved being a 'virgin' and I flaunted it back when I first got my journal if you remember. I wouldn't equate it with driving a car, but I ould sorta equate it with drinking.
Yeah, I feel like, for a culture that throws sex in your face all the damn time, we sure are sexually repressed, even backwards in our thinking about sex. Its so taboo in the home that youth have to resort to either learning about it on television or actually experiencing it. Im 100% with you on the sex ed being the key part. throwing virginity and sexual purity in our face when we see otherwise in our everyday lives definitely sends mixed messages. Thats why Im trying to craft my approach to Iyonna when it comes to sex. Not an easy task, I mean, because, on the one hand, you want people to realize that although virginity itself isnt neccesarily sacred, the intimacy involved with sex does hold some meaning, therefore you dont want to just do it with anyone.
