Hearing things

Do any of you hear voices when you read LJ? Like when I read coolfreshair's journal I hear her accent. And of course I hear the voices of those whose voices I know when I read their entries. But I've also created voices in my head for some of you. Like Nia and Timmy. I wonder if my voice for folks is totally off to how they really sound. Do any of ( Read more... )

I've never talked to any of the people who are on my friends list in person. But if I did, if I had some record of people's voices than I would totally hear their voice comeing through. In other words I get what your saying. I think it's neat when you can hear someone's voice through their words.

Yes of course I hear you...especially when you "say" certain things. "Awww." is one.

Julia is another one there are like keywords with her that I've never heard her say, I don't think, but whenever I see it somewhere else I think of her.

Broody{I think that's how it's spelled} & Whilst

I don't do it with anybody else, but as of lately I've been having assumptions of what Linda sounds like. I keep thinking she sounds like this woman I know.

I talked about you and ya brother's the other day to mama. Just random comments...you know how that goes.

Oh yea! Everytime I click on that link I keep thinking of this one keep word u used & I'm like why it gotta be that?

As far as Santa...I remember telling my aunt that my mama was Santa & she nearly had a fit....cause I guess she wanted me to believe what they had been telling me for so long, but come on he couldn't get down our chimney...he'd have to use the front door. You just made me think about something....more on that later.{maybe}

Do any of y'all hear a voice for me when you read?

when i was younger i was really close with my cousin Mitzi... when i read your LJ you sound like her.... except older and without the spanglish tinge, lol.

What would that be called? Religionism? Where you assume your religion is "right" and base everyone's actions off of that? Or would it just be called Americanism?

i'd jus' call it arrogance i think, lol.

Anyway how do y'all feel about Santa?
Also anyone feel strongly about Thanksgiving?

i hate to say it, but all my children will grow up knowing the truth about everything i know the truth about, including Santa and turkey day. i don't see how doin' otherwise benefits them or me. i'd rather they know i'm giving them gifts 'cause i love them; and i definitely prefer they know what went down with the Native Americans and what turkey day really celebrates.... when they're old enough, of cousre. i won't be trying to explain politics and history to a 3-year-old, lol.

and who is Lonnie Lynn? lol.

I remember my family calling me pretending to be Santa when I was like 3 or 4, and even then I was like I know it's yall but they confused me and I wasn't sure.

Then when I was like 7 somebody left the toys r us receipt on the counter and Santa was officially a wrap.

Later when I was like 10? I was at the beauty shop and told some girls that were my age and older Santa didn't exist and caused a big ruckus. To this day whenever I go to the shop folk be like yeah she the one told all the kids that there's no Santa Claus.

Now I'm like he's extraneous. I could buy into my aunt's whole he's symbolic and once kids are older you can switch it on em, but I'm like why bother? He's just a commercial dude now, not even a cool story. If I was to raise my kids Christian, Christmas will be all about the birth of Christ, even tho it ain't his birthday.

"Side note: I love your brother's name."

lol I don't. But I'm used to it now. My brother changed his name about 7 years ago. His name used to be Eugene (and we all called him Gene). Dunno why he changed it, but my birth mother gave me, him and our other brother E names. So he put the E in front to keep the "tradition." It took me about 2-3 years to stop calling him Gene and start calling him Eunique.
