So our final film show for my Recycled Images class is being held at Rififi, a place I'm totally not hip enough for. Unfortunately it's only in a week and a half so I better get my film finished... (yikes ( Read more... )

if you do decide to invite folks to watch the film, do let us know. i'd love to see it and to meet you, but i definitely understand how nerve-wracking that could be.

Rififi isn't so hip. Worry about your film, not your outfit.

Sorry I missed commenting on your last post. Glad to hear the bleaching went well! Between TFA and Maysles, I've been very busy this week.

As for my film, I'm still stunned at the response it got. I mean, don't get me wrong...I spent a week making it and it was very intricately planned, but I really didn't expect any reaction at all. This weekend I'm going to focus on testing some music with it or possibly creating my own soundtrack using educational films involving mechanics, machines, repetition, patterns, etc.

I really appreciate the kind words about the film too. After some dismal GTB lately, I'm very much in need of some positive reactions.

I actually like "Moon Dreams." Don't underestimate the beauty of simplicity. I honestly have no idea what to title my piece, which will also be screening in another class on Monday.

Finally, I'm still planning on being there next week at 3. (Although I am less than enthused about being filmed or interviewed by our classmate.) Lemme know if you got that early slot.

I have the room booked from noon till 3. I guess that means I'm getting there at noon or they'll forfeit my reservation and someone else is going to grab the Steenbeck. The one in 402 is the only one I've been good at editing with as far as the optical audio track goes; I don't like how the one in 403 (with the working optical bulb) drives. I've heard murmurings among our classmates that many are going to edit on Tuesday so we better command Steenbecks in both rooms before they all do!

I take it you didn't read Jeanne's email: she's not letting that girl interview our class (thank GOD) because it's our last class before the film show. I'd have complained if she said yes to that because it would have been an annoying distraction, but I had a feeling Jeanne would have found a polite way to say no either way.

"Moon Dreams" might work. I'm reading Lovell's "Lost Moon" for some inspiration this weekend.
