In a desperate attempt to get away from the vacuum cleaner, my elder cat banged into the tripod holding a projector sending it crashing to the ground. Needless to say, digital projectors don't particularly enjoy the process of going from happily sitting in the sky to suddenly smashing into a wooden floor. It worked for a few hours afterwards but

The responsible (but not necessarily fun) thing to do with broken electronics is to take it to an e-recycler. Expect to drop $10-30 for them to take it, though. (This is why I have a bunch of stuff waiting to go; Vogon won't pay and I have been waiting for a month for my retarded bank to send my new bank card.)
