Google is by all accounts a lovely place to work, with lots of perks, including world class cuisine in their free cafeterias. The cafeterias are so good they were profiled on the food network. Now, to maintain all those lovely perks, Google has decided to screw over 100 million users.

I also liked number 4, "Democracy on the web works" and number 8, "The need for information crosses all borders." as far as going against one's own goals and culture in this situation.

Theo & Co. are promising to be like the Patriots, and stop talking about every little niggling detail and perception and inference. I'll believe it when I see it.

I don't think that Mota passed one physical and failed another, so much as Boston wanted Beckett bad enough to knowingly accept damaged goods, while Cleveland is trading from a position of strength. It also becomes a question of why the trade got leaked so early, if it wasn't actually that close to being done. Saying, "Wait! Mota's hurt!!" is a great way for Cleveland to back out of an unpopular deal, or to angle for another prospect to be thrown in.

(I don't know what Cleveland's situation is, but Mota's no more hurt now than he was when the Marlins traded him, and we all knew he was hurt then.)
