So I was reading Mary Ann on flickfilosopher again, admiring her latest 'aggressively promoting the female gaze' post on Ben Barnes from The Chronicles of Narnia and I went back and read the intitial rationale behind these posts found here ( Read more... )

Hence why I suddenly found her character ten billion times sexier in Spooks... she suddenly got a whole lot more confidence :P

I can't decide about Nicola at all. One second I think she's beautiful and the next plain and the next oddly striking and then back to beautiful again. I really, really don't know at all.

But it doesn't matter, because she is still sexy :P

ps: feel free to post some sexy male/female pics on here if you'd like to share. I was actually going to post way more but ran out of time and only just got back now. As you could probably guess... because River Song should be in this post for sure!

I think one of the great things about being female is that we can appreciate the female form without having to categorise ourselves (gay, bi or straight).

Hmmm, I'm trying to think of who I find sexy. I am not normally attracted to Hollywood types, but of course the only ones I can think of now make me embarrassed to be so mainstream! LOL
I do love Andy Schleck, something about a cyclist. (And the fact that the Schleck brothers strike me as such lovely lovely people!)

Wow what a true point! Men can't do the same thing as us without being labelled sexually can they?

And don't be embarassed about who you find sexy. It doesn't matter if they're mainstream. I was actually going to post more pics of other people but ran out of time. I will have to do a part 2 post :P Johnny Depp is up there for me, and John Simm and James McAvoy and Richard Armitage :)

largely brought about by Fidget on the Spooks forum :P I love it when I get the blame for things :P

Nicola was my first ever crush - first episode of Chalk and I fell in love, was far too young to watch it but hey never mind when you're the baby you get away with everything.

I do think she's beautiful it's her eyes and I still have a think for blue eyes (even if my wife has brown ones) I like the short hair as well there is a picture out there somewhere of a photo shoot she has short hair and it wet and she just looks so hot ......

HAHA BUT IT'S A GOOD BLAME. I THANK YOU MOST HUMBLY FOR SPAWNING THIS EXCELLENT POST :P

I'm pretty sure my first ever crush was David Wenham in Seachange. Damn he broke my lil eleven year old heart.

I also have a major crush on HBC in everything ever... but especially Mrs Lovett... Mrs Lovett is also pure sex ;)

Nicola is especially great because she catches me by surprise when she is hot. Because most of the time, I personally don't find her that attractive as explained in OP. But then I have a serious thing for Nicola with short hair like you wouldn't believe... also in Luther, the scene where she is in bed...that scene made me think 'eh Nicola is really beautiful in this scene' and so I can never decide what I think because I am like a Nicola yo yo or something.

AND OMG WOMAN. THIS PHOTOSHOOT. PLEASE LINK ME. NOW.

I first caught onto "Spooks" (priggishly re-named "MI-5" here in the States) paying most of my attention to the hot young thing of a character Keeley Hawes played.

I overlooked Nicola Walker's character of Ruth Evershed until the episode in which Malcolm cajoled her into meeting that guy at the Mozart sing-along. Her nervousness was actually very appealing to me.

Ms. Walker is a terrific actress and verrrry sexy, too. I'm not sure what it is about her, but it is powerful.

WOW! Same! I took very little notice of Ruth in series two at all because I was distracted by the Tom/Keeley/Danny team. I started watching Spooks because of Keeley too (needed a post A2A fix). Then when Zoe left I thought I'd stop watching but in series three I decided I really liked Ruth and now she is my favourite Spook :P

Not only is Ms Walker a terrific actress, she also has a beautiful smile (ffs directors why do you never capitalise on this?) and is lovely in person- by far one of the nicest people I have ever met.

My favourite actress is Helena Bonham Carter. I love her eccentricity and kookiness and determination to be herself that goes with her astonishing acting talent, but I think Nicola is almost on par with her now for me. I think Nicola is a very realistic actress and in stuff like Luther I have to remind myself I am still just watching Nicola. The only other actress I can think of who convinced me that thoroughly (aside from Helena) is Miranda Richardson in roles like the ones she had in Spider.
