If you have not heard elsewhere, Dances with Cars died in the wee hours of this morning either en route to or at her local hospital. Details are below the cut if you want them.
My heart goes out to everyone who was close to this vibrant woman. I'd only met her twice, but I'd been hearing lovely things from a variety of folks. My condolences.
I am quite saddened to hear this news. I only very recently found/caught up with Dances after a too-long, several year hiatus. Memories and emotion flood my mind. My thoughts are with her family and myriad friends & of course Randy. (I never really knew you as Pengie). --brian
I'm so very sorry to hear about this. She was utterly delightful and vibrant and wonderful. It's unbelievable that she is gone so soon.
I remember meeting her through a.f.o-b. and, insanely, driving down to Las Vegas to see Oingo Boingo on their farewell tour.* We arrived in Vegas just as "Pedestrian Wolves" was playing in the car, which we thought couldn't be more appropriate. After the concert, we finagled our way backstage (how, I'm not entirely sure) for a very brief encounter with Danny Elfman.
I'll miss her. I wish I'd known her better in the past ten years; we lost contact until only recently. Randy, I'm sorry for your loss. I remember Kari with much fondness.
*I have pictures somewhere of Kari at the Farewell concert. I can find them and send them to you.
