If you have not heard elsewhere, Dances with Cars died in the wee hours of this morning either en route to or at her local hospital. Details are below the cut if you want them.
Thanks, Elusis. I was honored to spend some time with her at the SF MOMA and at the Ghirardelli shop in 2003. I'll try to post my shot taken at the immersive "Where the Wild Things Are" exhibit downtown. It does seem somehow appropriate that I read this news while queueing up a "Buffy" episode.
I am so sad, so, so sad for Pengie's loss, and for the stress of dealing with illness in the past months. I will miss Dances immensely. Wishing you all peace.
thank you very much for the post. i didn't know her well, but appreciated her so much. this is so incredibly sad. my thoughts continue to go to you all.
I never met her in person, but we shared a bond of PH. I met Dances on LJ shortly after we were both diagnosed. She was the first person that I ever spoke to who also has the disease and it was comforting to talk with her. I hope Pengie can find peace knowing that she is finally out of pain and in a place w/ no suffering.
