I've got nothing to say other than I'm sorry. Dances put up with a lot more than anyone should ever have to, and good thoughts to her family and friends, and especially Pengie right now.

Thank you for posting this. Thank you so much. It hurts, and I'm sobbing, but thank you. Your story about your first meeting made me laugh through the tears.

This is such sad news. I didn't have the personal relationship with her that many here did, but nevertheless I thought she was a stellar individual and one of the people that made rmta in its heyday such a special community. I'll always remember her carpetbag and smile a little bit.

My heart goes out to Pengie and you and the rest of Dances' family.

Please delete if this is inappropriate, but there have been a couple of journal entries made today illustrating her beautiful posts to the newsgroup rec.music.tori-amos some years ago, and I thought that everyone should have a chance to read them.

-I- Rainclouds and carpetbags

-I- Not a Soul Train regular...

Having only met Dances twice, these--her words--are my memories of her. She was special, and she will assuredly be missed....

Thank you. I have always thought "-I- Rainclouds and carpetbags" one of the most brilliant things I have ever read.

I've never met Dances, but I've been reading her journal for years now. All too often, I read stories of her medical problems, but I held out hope that she'd pull through. Her vivacity and good humor has always shined on, and the world is now a little darker without her brightness.

My condolences go out to Pengie, and to all the people whose lives have been touched by Dances' light.
