Ace of Swords, reversed dakotawitch March 18 2010, 20:20:57 UTC
Your card is the Ace of Swords, reversed. This card tells me that you are experiencing frustrations or delays, especially around issues or activities in which you are passionately invested. You may have gotten some harsh feedback or criticism, or may be interpreting recent events as a referendum on your choices. Be aware that while you may feel that delays or setbacks indicate that you are a failure or a disappointment, this is not the case. Take what you can from the feedback or criticism and apply it to future endeavors, but do your best to disregard any personal attacks. Delays or frustrations in your endeavors are NOT indicative of any personal failing or lack of effort on your part ( ... )

Would you do a quick read, regarding work? Things are kinda hectic/changes, and although I'm not bad at one-card readings, I would like your expertise. Please and thank you!

Five of Wands/Staves, reversed dakotawitch March 18 2010, 20:26:20 UTC
Your card is the Five of Staves, reversed, in which five figures appear to be sparring (or dancing?) with short staves in front of a sunset. This card tells me there is lots of verbal sparring or dancing going on -- lots of buzzwords, lots of information flying that may be contradictory or incomprehensible at times, and a sense of people or things being at crosspurposes. The fact that the card appears reversed tells me that this is not open hostility, but that there is probably a fair amount of gossip, talking behind people's backs, and indirect communication happening. I don't get the sense that this is malevolent, but is born both of fear of change and stress, with a dose of uncertainty brought on by lack of clear information or the presence of contradictory information. (I think of it as an office-wide game of the old Telephone Game, if you ever played that ( ... )

spot on.

Thank you so much! I just got passed on a promotion, and the person who got it is strongly working towards making her indisensable. Thing is, she is a strong, hard worker, and pro-actively finds things to do above and beyond, so she was a good choice.

Thanks again - I appreciate it.

Five of Cups, reversed dakotawitch March 18 2010, 20:30:50 UTC
Your card is the Five of Cups, reversed, in which a partially veiled woman walks away from three overturned chalices and toward two upright chalices. In its natural position, this card usually indicates the end of a relationship or leavetakings. In its reversed position, it tells me that it may be time to let go of old emotional hurts -- to stop focusing on what went wrong. Alternatively, you can expect to hear from someone from the past who wishes to either ask forgiveness or to forgive you. It's important at this time that you focus on what you have (the full chalices) rather than what you may have lost (the overturned chalices). You should take time to think about relationships that have ended and see if those patterns are playing out in your life again. This does not mean you should blame yourself or others, but simply look at what you can take forward or have taken forward from those relationships. (And not just romantic relationships, either.) I think of this card as being about closure, and sometimes reconciliation ( ... )

Thanks so much! Obviously, lots of thoughtfulness ahead. :-)

I sent a message to my sister Diane, and told her a little about your situation and request for guidance on LJ. Hopefully it will lead to great things! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

The Zorya dakotawitch March 18 2010, 20:35:49 UTC
Your card is the Zorya, which is the Sun card in this deck. The Zorya are a trio of Slavic Goddesses who are roughly equivalent to the Fates or the Moirae of Greek mythology. This card indicates a time of expansion for you after a time of darkness. Trust that the Sun will come up, just as it does every day with no intervention from you. The light will return, and is returning. The Zorya also tell you to trust in the fate before you. This does not mean you should stop being an active agent in your life. Rather, it means to trust that all the choices you have made up to know have led you to this place, and this place is where you are -- this place is good, and right. The Zorya also beckon you into the light of the Sun. If you have been afraid to take the next step, now is the time. They are holding out their hands for you to show you the way. While they are Fate, they are not Fate in the sense of immutable outcome. Rather, the Zorya represent the likely outcome of the choices you have made, and those choices (no matter how painful, no ( ... )

I need guidance about a situation between me and my oldest daughter who hasn't spoken to me in 4 months. I'm heartbroken and want to know how much more this is going to be.

Five of Pentacles dakotawitch March 20 2010, 00:03:19 UTC
Your card is the Five of Pentacles, in which two women wrapped in saris walk in a snowstorm. This card is fundamentally about trying to find compromise and having difficulty doing so -- AE Waite described this card as "the lovers cannot find a meeting place". This card speaks to continuing discord, but discord borne of all parties wanting to be right. This is not a situation that is clear cut, and any issues that are being brought up (or that catalyzed the situation) are not the issues at the heart. In a way, this card is about the "cold shoulder," as the two women do not look at each other ( ... )
