I think I may have seen you on Facebook? Either way, this fellow Idris loves your dress! And your hair looks amazing! What did you use for the under-bodice-shirt-thingy?
Yeah, we did, and I was totally awed that you commented because seriously, your dress helped me SO MUCH!!!! The under the bodice shirt thing, hilariously enough...is a pair of tights that I took the seam out of until I could wear it like a shrug sweater lol. It is still too high in the back, so I've been slowly messing with it the more I wear it lol. I still am on the quest for the perfect boots though!
A while back, Target had some mid-calf granny-style boots in a taupe color that would be great. Not real leather, though. I just dug through all 12 pages of boots at Target and could not locate them. The autumn season (starting in a month) for clothes and etc. will be a great time to start hunting regular retail. Until then there's ebay and etsy. stars_fell might have had those boots?
I'm really put out that Target isn't selling the boots that acciochocolate mentioned anymore, because they were freakin' perfect. The exact brand and style name is the Xhilaration Kashana Lace-Up Boot. They came in a bunch of colors but if I recall correctly, I got them in Natural and bought some brown shoe polish to liberally rub them down with. You might be able to have some success finding them by Googling the name or looking around on eBay. If not, this link might be helpful in locating similar ones.
Anyway--I'm so glad that I was able to help other people with their own dresses! I'm assuming you read the breakdown I posted here? I really do hope people have found it useful. Have you thought about cutting out the part of the back that shows? We did that with the shirt I'm using. I'd love to find something more form-fitting like a leotard, but it'd have to be massively scoopnecked in both front AND back, plus it would make using the bathroom while in costume about damn near impossible. :/
