One unique feature of the Season 16/17 scarf is at the end of the Duplicate Half. There is a purple panel that has been somehow bleached or faded, appearing yellow in the middle and purple only on the edges.
This can still be seen on the Shada scarf today.

For the damaged section, if it were me, I'd knit separately the damaged section in yellow (or colour of your choice), using a provisional cast-on.
Then, leaving the stitches live but on extra yarn or cord (or non-reactive needles, if you have them to spare, or disposable skewers with foam earplugs on either end to keep the stitches contained), I'd over-dye only the edges in purple. Rinse and check colour (and when it's right, perhaps do an extra soak and rinse to avoid later dye migration into the colours on either side), dry well, then kitchener it into place in the scarf.
Safer than using bleach (which can damage fibers), and since it's unconnected to the rest of the scarf while being experimented on, no risk to the scarf.
Wouldn't be difficult several identical yellow sections and trial different strengths and tones of purple dye then choose the best of the lot to kitchener in.

One big thing I've been thinking while doing this scarf is that there are probably ways to make it to look more like the screen scarf, I just don't know any other techniques. I'm grateful for any advice from anyone who does knit at an advanced level.
