Movie theatres arm customers against cell phones.This is kind of a neat idea - you can alert ushers to rude people with phones. So my question is, if it's the cell phones that are the driving cause of this, why bother with the test of the little buttons? It seems that if someone finds out someone in the studio called the attendant on them, that they'll just be waiting outside with the bat to find you after the movie... rather than spreading blame around, why don't theatres use the cell phone blockers instead? They're boxes that can be set up to cause cell phones not to have reception or connect to a tower within a certain range... they could spend the research money on installing a known product, and then no blame gets passed around, because no one would be able to get a signal to interrupt with annoying calls within the viewing area...

That sounds like a good plan to me! It eliminates the need for the bat entirely! (or at least for a cell phone-related reason...)
