In the spirit of
chainofclovers, responsible for the kick-ass ficathon some months back, I want to try a REALLY Quick and Dirty Halloween-themed comment fic-a-thon over the next few days. I would love to see prompts that are creepy, or scary, or supernatural, or sexy, or all of the above, but it’s not a requirement. Creativity is my only request!
Rules:
1) Prompts should go in the comments of this post. Informal request: if you make a prompt or multiple prompts, please try to answer at least one from someone else! I think the short nature of this challenge prevents the awesome “write before you prompt rule,” no matter how excellent it was.
Prompt example: Prompt: Rihanna-Umbrellas, Miranda/Andy (ganked from
chainofclovers, duh!)
Comments containing stories should be structured like this:
Subject: [Title, Pairing, Rating, Prompt Fulfilled (if applicable), story or link to story]
2) Please make each prompt in a separate comment for ease of organization. The subject line in prompt comments should be blank, and the comment body should specify pairing, the words or concepts you'd like to see written, etc. If you're responding to a specific prompt with a story, post your story as a reply to the comment containing the prompt.
3) If you want to write a story but you don't see a prompt you like, go ahead and write whatever type of story you want if it’s Halloween-inspired.
4) The fic-a-thon starts now, and will stay open through 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time on Monday, October 31st. Aka when Halloween is over.
5) General community rules re: content apply here. Any rating and DWP pairing is acceptable. If you think your story contains a trigger, please warn for the trigger and provide a link to the story rather than copy-and-pasted text. Please be cordial and supportive to the participants, and comment if you like what you're reading.
Final notes: The fact is that the comm has been relatively quiet, and the recent security issue gave me some pause as to whether or not to go through with this challenge. But, I caved ultimately, mostly because I have nothing in the works and as usual am hoping some good prompts will inspire some fast and fun work from our fabulous collection of authors. It’s a short fic-a-thon, but we’ll see what happens!
The Comment-a-thon is now closed!
