Trip is officially over (DAMN THAT WAS RUTHLESSLY QUICK) but won't be forgotten for a long time yet. Whenever I go anywhere, it's the little anecdotes that stand out because they're what makes up the sum of the whole. Like these two incidents when my friends and I found ourselves relying on what little Japanese we know to get the message across ( Read more... )

LOL...that's the power of language..
glad u had fun...I was only there for a few days..and I too think that it's not enough..one month vacation?? I can do that..*the perks of being a teacher..eheh*
but the budget will be sky high then..have u been to Japan?? me? it's a work-in-progress..I really hope that we can go to both Japan and back to korea back to back..talk about wishful thinking..haha

Gawd. I envy those who can take more than a week vacation. *The pitfalls of being a government servant*

But yeah, I agree about the budget being sky-high. That means one has to prepare a lot and save a lot for a lengthy vacation in Korea. As for Japan.... same as you, it's a work-in-progress. No immediate plans to go as of yet, but it's always CONSTANTLY there. :)

I spoke in Japanese all the time in Korea. They tried to speak in Mandarin to me but I so fail at that so :P

It was funny how we were straining to hear the Japanese translations whenever we get on subways and various places because we can understand a bit of those more than the Korean ones. XD I haven't heard a lot of people speak in Mandarin then, though. It's mostly Japanese. (or wait, maybe I did, but I couldn't tell the difference! Meh~)

The actual experience is more amusing, really. Some get lost in translation (or narration).
