One Last politics entry for 2007! Wooo!

Dec 11, 2007 21:00

First, let's talk about our old friend Bush. I was watching The Chris Matthews Show Sunday morning, and they had a segment about why doesn't Bush ask questions, especially when it comes to important things? The context for this was how the CIA released a statement last week saying Iran had stopped their nuclear program years ago, thus not being a ( Read more... )

your vote doesn't count. You're a woman. That's like 3/5 a vote or something.

Yesterday I read that Huckabee is up 2-1 on Romney among likely caucus goers. Holy shit! And nationwide he is now 22-21 percent, a dead heat with Giuliani. Holy shit! He really played it smart, despite having almost no money and no paid staff. Now that he's actually getting attention, some of his positions are changing. Plus, he didn't anything about the NIE on Iran a day after it came out, meaning I knew a lot more about it than he did. But otherwise, a Huckabee presidency is not nearly as frightening as the prospect of a Giuliani or Romney win ( ... )

I think Oprah's endorsement will make some what of a difference. I think a lot of Democrats are supposed to be making endorsements soon, and I think a lot of them are going for Obama.

If Edwards wins Iowa, he could get some momentum going. South Carolina is next to his home state, and I think he could do good there. So he could have a chance of winning that too. But since New Hampshire is in there, I don't know if he could win that. And even if he did win those 2, I don't know if he could keep going. I don't see Edwards winning Iowa though.

A Huckabee win is as equally frightening as a Giuliani or Romney win. Infact, its worse than a Giuliani win. A religious zealot is not healthy for America for the simple reason they can't reason or make decisions based on logic. Compromising is also out of the picture. It will cause more derision in international relations which is the last thing we need as our economy is going to rely heavily on these relations in coming years, it already does. Huckabee is Bush 2 with even less credentials and more religious extremism.

I'm not sure if I agree with this. It seems a bit extreme.

Compromising on what?

Huckabee is Bush 2

No, that is Hillary.

Look guys, all of these candidates suck, but let's keep one thing in mind. It is why Huckabee is awesome. He is *completely* unelectable on a national level. No moderates will vote for a baptist minister running on a pro-God platform, and with the evangelical base shrinking, Huckabee is dead in the water. Even Bill Crop knows this.
