staycation all I ever wanted

So uh... I haven't updated for over a month.

Well. I turned 28. And we took a 2 week "staycation" thanks to the Inspiration Pass, which is a public library program here where you get free admissions to a lot of local attractions. I was on a wait list for a LONG time (like, 18 months) but I finally got it

The Space Centre seemed to be much cooler when I was a kid. There was more to do, actual shows and stuff (more similar to Science World). My fiancé and I visited last summer on a whim (we were going to Vanier Park anyway, and he had never been in the planetarium) and I was surprised to see how rundown everything was looking. There's literally the exact same exhibits as when I was a kid, at least 15 years ago, except they're all starting to fall apart and they've actually removed a lot of them. I'll chalk it up to lack of funding, but it was disappointing to see. I do have fond memories of the laser shows; if they still run those that might be something for when your kids are older. :)
