So since my last post, it's been a week of continuous sickness here at La Casa Us. First Pippa, then on Tuesday I began to get ill, with my illness peeking on Thursday night/Friday. Aw, sorry you've all been so sick. I was surprised to see oven cleaning at the top of the list as a "bare minimum" item - haha. Also, I was a little surprised to see that you guys eat meat on Christmas Eve. Not to criticize - we do as well...

Normally we do not and actually we debated about this today (debate maybe is the wrong word because there were no "sides" per se). We have this ham that we intended to have on Saturday when my SIL was visiting, but because of illness that didn't happen. We need to cook it sometime in the next week, but Christmas dinner is already taken, and Gordon is working nights Sunday, Friday and Saturday, and Thursday we're visiting people, so that leaves only Monday and Wednesday. But Boxing Day we'll probably have so many leftovers we wouldn't want to make anything, and on Christmas eve I really need an easy main dish that I can leave going in the crock pot while cleaning and decorating. Thus, said consensus, ham.

We ate meat on this past Friday also because the only suitable frozen convenience food (I wasn't going to make my mother's helper actually COOK for me on top of helping me wrangle two sick toddlers) was frozen pepperoni pizza.

Edit: Oh and oven cleaning is "bare minimum" in this case because we'll be doing roast beef in the oven and ( ... )
