So since my last post, it's been a week of continuous sickness here at La Casa Us. First Pippa, then on Tuesday I began to get ill, with my illness peeking on Thursday night/Friday. On that day The Husband also began to get ill (although he definitely doesn't seem to have gotten it as badly as I did, and has only had to miss half a shift of work, whereas on Friday I had to get a cousin to come over and help me because I couldn't leave the couch).

LB, the little boy we do daycare for, showed signs of getting it Friday, and yesterday his dad took him to the doctor where he was diagnosed with pneumonia. Yikes. He officially wins, poor mite. We watched him again today and have been dosing him with Tylenol to keep the fever down. The doctor wanted his dad to wait to fill the prescription for antibiotics until the culture came back saying viral or bacterial but the dad went ahead and filled it. I'm torn, because I'm super super against using antibiotics unnecessarily, but I can understand his wanting his son to get better quickly, especially at Christmas, and not wanting to wait if it is bacterial. And he did say that he knows that even if it's not bacterial LB will have to finish his course of antibiotics. So I'll go along with it.

Nothing, nothing, nothing has gotten accomplished this week. I keep seeing statuses and blog posts about people talking about how everything is cleaned and decorated and presents are all wrapped and it is so. depressing. I haven't even been able to go shopping, for gifts or for food. And I have zero appetite so I don't even want to THINK about Christmas dinner. And the house is a disaster.

The Husband had to work tonight but he doesn't have to work again until the 27th morning so hopefully we can put together some semblance of Christmas.

Here is my bare minimum Christmas plan:
1. Christmas tree up and decorated with at least one string of lights and some ornaments, Christmas eve. Dining room relatively tidy with clean tablecloth. Kitchen cleaned with no pile of dirty dishes. Oven cleaned.
2. The presents for Pippa already purchased wrapped on Christmas eve and all the presents we have put out for the morning.
3. Christmas eve dinner of crock pot ham, with... side dishes. I have no appetite and cannot get enthused by planning. IT'S LIKE I'M NOT EVEN ME.
4. The Husband goes to Midnight Mass. I go to Early Bed.
5. Open gifts Christmas morning! Remember to record Pippa opening gifts.
6. Christmas morning Mass as a family with nobody vomiting, hacking, or fainting. (Obviously this one is somewhat out of my control).
7. Lunch of leftover ham in sandwiches and maybe salad or something.
8. Roast beef, yorkshire puddings, and... side dishes.
9. And to all a good night.

And one more if possible:
10. Somebody go to IKEA and get Pippa her rocking moose. And I wrap it before morning.

Now I have to put together a shopping list for grocery shopping.

next stop dutch elm disease, it's the most wonderful time of the year
