Al seems like a great guy, but he seems to spout the same partyline that Souders/Peterson do.
The fact that he justifies Clark apologizing, and Chloe not, by saying that Clark is supposed to be Superhuman and an example, and Chloe is only human is pretty scary thinking in my eyes.
Trying to justify any of Chloe's actions with "she's only human" line is so messed up. There are other humans on the show, yet they are not such corrupted, rotten individuals. But Checkmate killed my faith in this season, so I have to find something to cling to and hope things might turn for the better. :/
The thing about the whole "Well Clark's Superman and Chloe's only human" excuse they give to justify her actions. Is that not only it ignore years of new continuity in the comics where it's CLARK who's the real person, and Superman who's the disguise (I think?) but it also ignores the whole.point.of.the.show which was to present Clark as human first and Superhero second.
Clark's just as human as Chloe and if you're going to say that he shouldn't make any mistakes based on the fact that he's going to be superman, and you SHOULD hold Chloe up to the same standards based on the fact she's Smallville's version of Oracle/Watchtower.
The "Clark is Superhuman" answer works for me when it comes to Clark. Because Clark is a better person than the rest of them. Be it because he's alien or not, that's debatable. We've seen aliens, and it's not a noticeable quality in all of them. ;) The way Kents raised him has a lot to do with the kind of man he turned out to be. And we've seen time and time again that Clark has endless capacity to forgive and love. So to say that Clark apologized because that's the kind of man he is, he's just that good, and why he'll be Superman one day - that works for me. But Clark being that amazing does not justify Chloe and her crappy behavior one bit. One has nothing to do with the other, so I really don't get that part of their reasoning. If we condemned Lex and Tess for similar actions, that we should do the same for Chloe as well. Just because she's known Clark for a longer time should not give her Get out of Jail Free Card.
I think the guys are nice to come to Twitter and interact with the fans, but truthfully I don't know if you can trust anything they say because first and foremost they are going to try to promote their show and so they are always going to give you the 'keep watching' reply. For me, a fan since day one, I'm not sure they can do much to rectify the damage they've done to the show over the years. I can only take so much retcon and character deterioration before I just go 'ehhh,' and figure that the SV I knew and loved has been pretty much been driven into the ground. I mean, after this long it's to be expected though honestly. The sad thing is it feels to me that they don't even really KNOW the character of Superman. Everytime I see him do something like dangle someone off a building and scream at them, I experience an epic facepalm moment. And I gotta say as a fan of Batman it kinda infuriates me. I can just imagine how the diehard Clark fans feel. :\
While I get that they're trying to hype up the show on twitter (same like in interviews), he still could have ignored those particular tweets. I just don't think he'd flat out lie, especially as he co-wrote the final episode
( ... )
Hm. I'd go with 'watch it' option. It shows how The Wall and Checkmate operate, and introduces a new (still mysterious) player. Tess also gets in on the Green Arrow secret. And save scene is really cool and comic book-ish looking/filmed.
And if you're pissed after the episode, you can come online and rant, because there's many of us who'll agree with you. ;)
Not exactly SV related and you've probably seen it since you're a bigger stalker than I am, but just in case, since it's too good to miss out on: LMAO (literally) and I seriously love her. <3
