When I first became ill the trees were still covered in gold, red, and brown leaves. Now all the trees are bare.

I am taking a quinolone type antibiotic called Levaquin. Taken once a day, it seems to be time released every 6 hours. It is working quite well at clearing up my infections, thank goodness ( Read more... )

I actually came in to work today! I'm still tired and stuffy, and talking is difficult with my raw throat. But I'm back in the land of the living. And very glad of it, too.

Diagnosis: sinus infection. The sore throat is caused by post-nasal drip. The strep test was negative.

Prescription: Bactrim. Sulfa-type antibiotic.

I just took the first dose. With luck I will be well enough to go to work tomorrow.

Not so great. I seem to have taken a turn for the worse. Yesterday I vacuumed the floors in the kitchen and laundry rooms, and that tired me out. So today I decided to take it easy, but I got really tired in the afternoon and slept or read most of the afternoon. Still sick. My throat was back to being raw and angry this morning, after taking a break yesterday. I finally remembered to take my temperature before breakfast. It was 99 deg F. Not high enough to be strep, but high enough to make me feel lousy. So I'm staying home a third day. And I'm off tomorrow. That gives me 4 more days to get well ( Read more... )

I'm home sick today. I started feeling kind of tired yesterday afternoon at work, and quickly had that feeling like I was coming down with something. By the time I went to bed I was coughing and sniffling. No better at 6am, so I called in sick.

I take it back. I'm sick. My throat hurts. All I want to do is eat ice cream and go back to bed. I'm going home.

I spent most of Tuesday in a dry, well-HVAC-ed seminar room. By the end of the day I could feel a burning sensation on a spot on the back of my throat. By Wednesday morning there was no doubt I'd come down with a sore throat. I stayed home yesterday and rested and slept. In the morning I read several chapters of Watership Down.
