Cool

We have central air, but it doesn't work so well to cool the upstairs. We finally got our window a/c unit in the bedroom window last night. On the hottest day of the year so far. I haven't slept so well in weeks! Aaaahhhhh!

License plate sighting yesterday: NTRL 20. Think they were heading to the Origins gaming convention, perhaps?

That MUST have been such a relief, the coolness. I'm glad you got that set up before the heat is full-on for days in a row.

You reminded me of that hot summer when, in July, I finally got a window unit for the bedroom of a vintage flat in Evanston Illinois. I remember that coolness so well and how calm it made me after all of the restlessness.

It surely was a relief! Yay!

I remembered the first apartment I had on my own. The complex had some air conditioners to rent, but the first summer I lived there I waited too long to rent one and they were all gone. I spent the summer without air conditioning. I used a fan, and when it was really hot I would run cold water over my feet in the bathtub before hopping into bed. I vowed never to go without a/c again.

It made me smile! For my version of geekery, NCC 1701 still wins (the original Enterprise serial number) for best license plate, but the d20 reference makes me happy.
