One of the nice things that Crystal, my new massage teacher, does is to take a break in the middle of class from teaching technique and review the anatomy of the major skeletal muscles that we are working on. She says she's heard feedback from former students that they would like this, so she decided to try adding it to the class format. We are ( Read more... )

Hey speaking of massage. my friend amethystjade gave me a CD a few years ago by Chuck Wild called Liquid Dreams Slow World. It even has a disclaimer on the back saying "do not listen to while operating heavy machinery". Anyway, he has several CD's, all of which are very relaxing and have been suggested for use during yoga, meditation and massage. I thought you might like to know. You can find them on Amazon.com. I sleep to mine every night and I used it prior to my wedding as a trained relaxation. I wasn't too worried about getting married, I was more worried that I would trip and fall on my face or something. But anyway, it worked.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out; I'm always looking for good meditation/massage music. I like the disclaimer, too!

I am so glad you happened to share what you learned about calf muscles. Your remarks seemed to jump out to me. This last year has been the most sedentary of my life. It all started when I discovered I could read the newspapers of the world as we began to plunge into the war in Iraq. Then I discovered Yahoo profiles, then polyamory, and now LiveJournal. I notice my circulation isn't what it used to be, and that it is better when I am more active or simply walk about the place. Your fortuitous words kicked an understanding into place for me. Thanks. To feel more fully alive I know to be more bodily active every day.

I don't understand enough to grasp the possible association with insomnia, but your holding out for easier ways led me to consider some possibly delightful solutions too. I hope you find the perfect answer.

I'm glad the information was of help :)

Regarding insomnia, I was simply joking that if I stood next to my bed without moving for long enough, I would pass out and (hopefully) fall into bed.

Hehehe, that's good. What an image of you standing there waiting to fall asleep, hoping you'd hit the bed. I see my thoughts didn't expanded far enough to grasp what you might consider. I'll learn to expand my mind around you.
