My Birthday

Dec 05, 2003 10:30

Today is my birthday. I am 38 years old. A month ago that sounded old and strange, but I've been saying "thirty-eight" to myself for several weeks now, and I like it. It sounds round and solid. The feel of it in my mouth is like poetry ( Read more... )

Thank You!

It's been pretty good so far...low-key, but really nice.

I am enjoying it!

yayy happy birthday!!

i find as i get older in years, i take myself (and life!) less seriously, and open to more risks and allow myself simple childlike joys... leading to lighter inside, and looking younger outside ;)

celebrate life!
blessings and light,
pixie :)

Thank you so much!

I think that's the key! Take life less seriously, allow yourself to be silly, and enjoy life. Look and feel younger, inside and out.

Blessings!

Yup. I'm 37, going on 20-something, going on 5.
From this thread, I'm beginning to wonder if anybody looks their age anymore.

Happy Birthday, girl! I hope you've had a good one.

I have similar age/perception problems. My favorite incident happened on New Year's Eve, when I was 30 or 31 - I'd gone to buy wine, and got carded. The girl looked at my ID, looked at me, and said "you're THAT old?" I started to say "thanks..." but under my breath it was followed by "...bitch!"

You're lucky that you have the Ring, I have to rely on the blood of young virgins to keep me young, and let me tell you how hard _it_ is to come by these days! :-P

*Homer voice*: Mmmm, blood of virgins. *drools*

Hee! What an idiot cashier! Last year I had a cashier (older than me, I'm sure, snerk) scratch at the license like it was fake and would come apart. Grr! I started having visions of being taken away by security. I almost told her I voted for Mondale in '88. I wish I had.

I wish I had TOLD her, that it. I *did* vote for Mondale. Really, really too bad he didn't win.
