Allergies improving

My food sensitivities seem to have settled down now. This week I have eaten peanuts, broccoli, and tofu, all without itching. I am very grateful for this. I do find myself more sensitive to the way processed foods make me feel, though. They seem hollow and unsatisfying. Even my lunch staple of organic canned soups doesn't seem to satisfy; I'm ( Read more... )

If you ever want to have a soup-making session I can show you how to store them in the freezer in easy induvudual or dual size portions so that you can make your own soups and have them handy, like the canned soups are for lunches at work, ect.

I have actually been doing that, making a lot of soup in the stock pot and freezing them in plastic containers. But I'd love to get your suggestions on soup making. I pretty much make it up as I go. I'm sure you have lots of tips :)

I have recently come to the same conclusion about fast food and processed foods. I've been on/off/mostly on Atkins for about 6 mos now and off at the moment -- and yet all the food I craved and have now indulged in doesn't taste as good as I 'remember' - a poor victory of sorts. I believe now that my body prefers homecooked meals from scratch, organic and fresh. It's harder work to take care of one's self the way the self wants...I think. *HUGS*

This just reminds me that its possible to change your taste buds. If you can give yourself a couple of months without some of that stuff when you come back to it, it always tastes fake and kind of gross.
Nothing like home cooking.

I think you must be right -- I was just never aware that it could happen. It's been absolutely _weird_ for the past few days -- for things to not taste right.

I have slowly been preparing more and more of my own food, and I do believe my body does prefer the homecooked food. It's more work, but I feel so much better that it's worth it. I'm worth it! :)
