Blake's 7 - Reboot

Apparently, SkyOne is working on a "re-imagining" of Blake's 7 that may be broadcast on Sci-Fi Channel in the U.S. They've already made an Radio Drama. Supposedly, they're waiting to see how the sales of the radio drama go to see how much money to put into the production of the TV series.

I'll say now what I said after the initial announcement last year: I have no great hopes for anything I'll enjoy from this. It'd be nice to be pleasantly surprised, but I'm not expecting to be.

I haven't had the chance yet. It was more all the "Reimagined like Battlestar Galactica!!" stuff that hasn't exactly been driving me to try. (Not to mention the snubbing of pretty much everyone involved with the original show, but that's just bitterness that we didn't get a new sequel show twenty years ago.)

Like I said, I'd like to be surprised, but I'm not expecting it.

It's not going to be the same without Darrow. Still, crossed fingers and all that.

A new Blake's 7 would be neat. As long is it is not full of lame like some of these other remakes.

It's hard to know, but I heard that they went out of their way to pick good actors first. There is a clear improvement in the acting between each of the disks in the set, which bodes well for them actually having chemistry right out of the starting gate.

I remember that being one of the things I liked about the pilot for Andromeda. They filmed the pilot after filming several other episodes, so the actors were pretty comfortable by that point. Then of course, the episodes right after the pilot blew. They'll probably avoid that because of this initial bonding period. Of course, the show went off-track partway through season 2 (thanks a lot, Osama) and the show started sucking.

Anyway, back on track. These are seriously good. I'm not usually a fan of radio dramas, but I've listened to these twice already, once with karabean and once on my own.
