Notes: I'm alone, awake and depressed ... So I post snippets of fic that will never fit in anywhere else anyway. I desperately want to write fic... what should I do?

The Fob Watch lies between them, its blackened silver carved with circular designs. Jack has kept it safe for nearly 70 years now, and 4 rounds of beer. He couldn't do this sober.
The Doctor's fingers trace over it as if petting a fragile creature, picking it up gently, but hesitating.
"Come on, off you go," is the only cue the Doctor needs to spring to his feet, knocking over two tables before disappearing through the bar's doors. Jack finishes his beer, smiling to himself.
He never hears about the watch again, which tells Jack all he needs to know.
