Gosh, that sounds kind of crazy. Lemme get this straight- did you graduate last spring? Are you in the Real World now? Is it a private school, and what grade levels? Anyway, great to hear from you.

It's not private and it's not magnet. It's a community school and kids who are zoned there go there. I am in the real world now! It's a scary place.

good lord, sounds like bill gates has no clue on the reality of what students entering high school actually know. no kid coming from a NC middle school knows how to properly write an academic paper, not a single one, the most intense we got on writing was for little dinky essays. Seems crazy to me not to start with the basics first. Not having any AP classes means that no one in the area is going to want to go to that school. It would be like attending a crappy high school in, say, rural eastern NC, but right in the middle of Wake County where they have some of the best schools in the state....why would any student looking to get into a good college want to go there??

But I always like working somewhere where I have a chance to improve things, and you def. do have that chance. So that's exciting. If you need someone to talk to the kids about engineering and writing or what they need to learn about writing for college, let me know, I'd be a pretty bangin' guest speaker...lol.
