If Christmas in Rome didn’t feel the same, Easter definitely didn’t. But unlike Christmas, where I mostly missed the entire holiday spirit (it came without ribbons! it came without tags!), I think that for the first time in my life, I really understood Easter. A couple of days ago, we finally returned to Rome after our class trip to Naples and Sicily. I haven’t slept in the same place for more than four nights since the first week of February, so it’s really nice to be back. So, I’m finally back in Rome after our spring break and the 10 day field trip to Sicily that followed it. It’s beautiful outside here, but I’ll delay going outside until I can finish writing about my past three weeks, which were probably the best yet in Europe. After Paris, Brian and I headed to Innsbruck, Austria for a ski trip, while Deirdre and Theresa split and did some more traveling in France. Getting to Austria took most of the day on Wednesday. Deirdre, Brian, Theresa, and I spent four beautiful sunny days there at the beginning of last week after finally turning in our projects, eager to start a three-week European vacation before thinking about schoolwork again ( Read more... )
