1)I'm going to the New York Comic Con next week, where my plan is to cavort around nyc eating yummy food and drinking fancy cocktails, to stalk jackson publik and doc hammer and to meet some awesome nerds. I will be dressing up, but like the procrastinator that i am, I'm not even starting them until this weekend. At least my plans for the BSG  ( Read more... )

I have mixed feelings about Torchwood. (I haven't watched CoE, but I've been spoiled about The Thing since before I knew what the show was.) It has some fun characters, but I feel like the end of S2 wasn't earned, you know? It felt very THIS IS SOME DARK AND EDGY SHIT. DID YOU GET THAT? DARKNESS. But maybe I will give CoE a chance one of these days.

It inspired me to start watching New Who though. I just started S2. I'm meh on aliens, but I LOVE CAMP, so it's working out fairly well for me.

The best part about CoE for me was the fact that it was a very tightly woven story that was actually suspenseful; CoE has a great emotional resonance and a well excited story arc, more then say, season two.

And it's a five part one hour mini-series, which I approve of.

Haha Doctor Who is so campy and insane and that's most of the reason I'm still watching.

That right there is why COE works so well. It's not trying to stretch into 13 hours.

Sometimes with tv, less is better.

Unless it's canceled prematurely, then more is better.

I'm gonna do live updates! I'm gonna post pictures! and possible video!

And the tenth doctor seems to be a serious fan favorite, so I'm interested to see how i like him.

Yay for Doctor Who and Torchwood! CoE was the best. Especially compared to the rest of Torchwood, which while I absolutely adore it, is kind of terrible. In a good way. Such delicious, delicious camp.

I do blame Torchwood for my haphazard watching of Doctor Who though. I ended up watching all the episodes with Jack first, and then going in and filling in all the blanks. I still haven't seen most of season 2, although that's probably just because I've never really felt the urge to.

I'm doing the exact same thing with Doctor Who, watching the Captain Jack ones and watching random episodes. I've seen most of the ones for season 1, and will probably just keep watching random episodes of the rest of the seasons.

Oh campy, low budget sci-fi, I love it so much.

As a major Doctor Who/Torchwood fan, I am pleased to see new people joining the fandom! xD

Haha, I am so late to this fandom. But I suppose i arrived soon enough to wait with equal parts apprehension and excitement for the next season of Torchwood.

Haha, well better late than never! xD

And, yeah, we always have the new season of Torchwood. Although, I don't know if it'll be the same without Ianto! :'(

I stopped watching TV for most of the 2000's and now Netflix and pirated tv streaming sites allow me to catch up on so many shows I missed I can be all up to date on my sci-fi.

Ii makes up for the fact that the only thing I wanna watch that is still on the air is Dexter, 30 Rock, the Venture Brothers and Fringe.

I donno how the new season is going to be, but the new teams needs to be really amazing to make up for killing off everyone else.

haha I'm sure james marsters will have the time for a cameo or two.
