A few days late, but it's been a busy few days at work ... finally took 20 minutes to breathe and catch up!

Pick a number or 10 and I will answer the questions!
1. Describe yourself how you would describe a character you’re introducing.

2. Is there any specific ritual you go through while/before/after your writing ( Read more... )

6. First fic/pairing you wrote for? (If no pairing, describe the plot)

OFC/Kevin Richardson of the Backstreet Boys LOL. And now it's utterly embarrassing ... but the OFC was an assistant for the Boys while on tour and she gets to be buds with Kevin, and of course sparks fly. It became a trilogy where they didn't get together until near the end of the second story, and in the third, she started drinking too much while he was on tour all the time and wound up going to rehab HAH!

11. Weirdest thing you’ve ever written/thought about writing/etc.?
Does the above count?? Kidding! A few years ago, I saw a a porn part of a series where women wrestle and get points by doing sexual things to one another and then the winner fucks the other one. I started a fic with J2 in that kind of world, but only got through the opening scene, and I honestly have NO IDEA where that doc lives right now.

12. A fic you wish you had written better, and why?I think I'll always feel that way after a story is done and you look back on it after a while. There's a ( ... )

8. Why do you choose to write?
My mind immediately said "because I can." Hah! I'm also now staring at an open work document and thinking ... 'why do I choose to write for a living, too.' I've always been the type who enjoys going back to look at something I created, so I'd suppose that's part of it, too. I will go back and read my own fics, I go back and read my work writing, too, and sometimes it feels like a puzzle to pick the right words to put together and get the point across.

9. Do you ever have plans to write anything other than fic?
I think about it a lot, and yes, I'd love to write a book. I just never quite get there, as to determining what to write because most ideas I get are then quickly turned into J2 lol

I for one hope you write a book because when you do, I'll buy the hardback and e-book :D

ideas I get are then quickly turned into J2 lol as they should be! Fan fiction is such a magical place, where our boys can be anything we want them to be ♥

:-******

I DO have this idea of a woman with a strained marriage that they kept out of convenience, having to through the struggles of him having a terminal illness. Then as she keeps spending so much time at the hospital, there's drama with the in-laws and her own family, plus she meets a man who's always around and is going through a similar thing. So there's this budding friendship and maybe more ... but also the strain of dealing with the families because while she knows the marriage has been over for ages and they're just really good friends, she has to decide if she wants to keep the facade up while the family is all in tatters already.

Probably about 2,000? When I do sprints with folks, I tend to get about 500-600 words, at least, in a 15-minute span, so I figure times four ...

I answered 6 above, but even before fanfic, I wrote an original story (or at least started it and had a huge chunk done) that mirrored some of my life, which I think was just my wanting to get frustrations out about HS, and my parents, and all that.

I must be about the same, not that creativity can be timed, if I wake and start writing I can finish a 4-5K fic in a couple of hours, but I only know that when I look up and find that it's mid morning.

I realised that after I hit 'post comment', lol.

LJ didn't really work for me when this post went up, so i just bookmarked it to come back later :D

I read all your responses because all the questions look very interesting to me, someone who's definitely not a writer.

Since you haven't answered that one yet, #18?

Surely!

18. How old were you when you started writing?

I remember writing a story on my computer around age 17, or maybe the summer right after HS where I had just turned 18. Things were kind of a mess in our family that summer and I was already facing stress about moving away to school, so I was writing a story about a girl in her senior year who was facing similar issues (though amplified) and how she was way more bold and stood up for herself than I ever did. It was all original fic, no fannish connections. I didn't get into writing fanfic until sophomore year of college.

That's an interesting story. Most people I know IRL did poems first...I think? It's not really a topic that came up that often, especially when I could never relate that well.
