A few days late, but it's been a busy few days at work ... finally took 20 minutes to breathe and catch up!
Pick a number or 10 and I will answer the questions!
1. Describe yourself how you would describe a character you’re introducing.
2. Is there any specific ritual you go through while/before/after your writing

I typically have a very general plot idea. For instance, there is a Band AU I've always wanted to write, where they're in a band together and Jensen is the moody lead singer. They fuck and fight, fuck and fight, and finally break up with Jared leaving the band. He does solo work and is has some small, critically acclaimed success on his lowkey yet dramatic turn ... while Jensen has loads of angst to support his creative juices. So they both experience immediate success but of course miss sharing it with each other.
That's about all I have. No other clues and no real idea of what it takes to get them through all that and into a resolution. The rest happens as I write, which is the exciting part to me. To find lil ideas to pop in as I'm literally writing the sentences down. I don't plot a single thing.
19. Why did you start writing?I liked making things up, I guess? LOL I also attribute it to how much I enjoy storytelling - as an ( ... )

Immediately my mind went to copfics but then I didn't think that was right LOL. I really enjoy managing tension, so anything where I can write difficult conversations and cram in a bunch of wit and banter, then I'm really, really happy.
15. Your guilty writing pleasure?
Schmoop ... I don't do it often, and I usually still temper it with 'realism', and keeping the boys totally masculine, but schmoop always makes me warm and fuzzy. (especially in happy endings to bad stories, just some hand holding after nearly dying is a beautiful thing to me :D)
20. 4 sentences from your work that you’re proud of?
Oh dear, this takes some digging. I immediately thought of This Long Silence, but I'm not sure the exact four lines that really make me happy ... just, the whole thing is a comfort to me. That it all came together, and I feel it's some of my best writing. I spent a lot of time on it, crafting the characters, story, and the language of the writing ( ... )

I can't think of anything specific. I may have a few ticks - like almost always sitting in the big arm chair in my living room when writing at home, playing music similar to the mood of the story, rereading the existing text if I'm picking it back up. But there is no regular ritual all the time. With longer fics, I try to let them sit before going back to edit with a fresher perspective rather than be wrapped up in whatever I JUST wrote, to see if it makes sense without immediate background clouding my judgement.

Absolutely none.
KIDDING. I love a lot of different folks, all for different reasons. kelleigh and riyku are so fabulously talented with word choices to describe things in ways I would never think to ... a whole point of 'I know those words, but I never would've thought to put them together like THAT', which is so impressive to keep stories new and lively. homo_pink for her homo-pinkness in going there and hitting you in the gut with short, luscious prose. tebtosca for her wit and crack. gracefully was a great presence, and often took the hard road through her stories and never shied away from character flaws. bertee always had a very distinctive voice, that was smart, fun, and absolutely self-aware with its characters. And cleflink is amazing in storybuilding and mastering the utterly delightful banter of eye-rolling!Jensen and whoops-lol-shrugging!Jared.
Was that enough? ;-)
13. Favorite fic from another author?I actually just went looking for fics to rec in this comment and I keep receiving Varnish Errors D: How ( ... )

I always watch TV or movies and start to see how J2 could be worked into the story, so then I typically am inspired to write THAT story (or something similar). But a lot of other things will, too. I wrote the train!verse based on how pissy I would always get on the trains and thought 'huh, cranky!Jensen would HAAAAATE this, but then adorable!Jared would always cheer him up.' And other things have happened like that. But overall, emotions tend to drive me through a lot of stories, and mostly tension and finding interesting ways to resolve tension and issues between characters.
14. Your favorite side pairings to put in?
I typically have a hard time with side pairings because I don't really ship anyone not involved in one of the Js, but I do ADORE the idea of Sam Smith and JDM. Just how delicate and beautiful she is up against his rugged exterior. Not quite a pairing, but I will throw Danneel into any and all stories, and especially make her a spunky, wise-cracking BFF to one of the guys :D
