Ray V work history question

I've been looking for Vecchio's service record prior to working with Fraser, but haven't come up with anything. I'm fine with creating one, but if there's info out there I want to try and incorporate it

We know he was walking a beat in June 1986. (Pilot)

He hadn't made Detective by the Carver case circa 1988 (8 years ago mentioned in The Duel).

In You Must Remember This he says he has been on the force 9 years. I find tend to add a few more years onto it (as he was walking a beat in '86 which suggests he's fully trained) but most people take it as 9 years.

He says in The Promise he spent 6 years in vice but never mentions the year. This is hard to fit into the 9 years mark and him not making Detective.

Oh yes I nearly forgot when Ray graduated (presumably from the academy) Francesca went to see Donny Osmond at the Beacon. I tried Googling it to find otu when that could be but failed.
