To think, I was grateful to get $2,100 from OSAP today to last for the next eight months!
Apparently I should find a CEO to sponsor me with the change in his pockets and I'd be better off.

No kidding, eh? What amazes me is that when people talk about getting labour costs in mind, invariably people talk about the normal, everyday person who produces the good being sold, but nobody really ever thinks that maybe we could save hundreds of millions by getting CEO salaries in line...

I often think that Canadians are lacking any kind of class analysis in the way that they think about their politics. Race, ethnicity are all at the front of the discussion but class is never really considered ( ... )

I agree with this... it's almost like "class" is a bad word. People are far more comfortable thinking of things in terms of overt signifiers, not more hidden things like income or social status. I have been wondering, lately, what we can do to make this analysis more palatable to people, but so far I haven't really come up with anything... but I do think that having this conversation is essential to us moving forward on any number of issues.
