a little better today
The fire line is holding on the south end of the fire, so we're not going anywhere unwillingly. Some good maps here (SB Independent). Heavy fog today, great for keeping things down. Big problem now is ash everywhere, it's hard to breathe. I went to work but didn't ride ;) -

I now know of a bunch of families who've definitely vackt their wayts.
Couldn't see shit today for all the smoke and ash but the fire has spread way east and west but not south. Please Bob, not south.

last night was ... entertaining. Power went out (smoke is a conductor, who knew? this can short HV power transmission lines, and the main 220 KV feed into Goleta went out) removing our phone (oops, we need an analog one), most news sources, AND the cell tower serving us (T-Mobile, you are dead).
