This storm is bizarre- normally the worst part is north & east of the eye- but in this one that was just rain. Now that the eye is more due west of us it has suddenly gotten more violent- all night & this morning we've had severe thunderstorms & tornados- so far all tornados have been either just west of me or just north- my vet is in the path of

OK - stupid question - what do you do if there is a tornado? Do you have a safe place to go (being a midwesterner - I keep wondering if you have a basement and if that would be safe due to possible flooding).

In my house I'd get in the hall= it is only 4 feet wide, & no windows. In a house with out a hall you would get in a closet or bathtub (if you have a cast iron one). There are very few basements around here- the water table is too high. In most places you hit water between 4 & 10 feet down-
