I am grinning like a fiend right now. And I'm speechless. I'm going to watch it a couple hundred more times and then give you some sort of useable feedback. Fair warning -- it may contain lots of exclamation points.

OK, my specific loves:

-- the beginning shots cutting between Rose and the TARDIS. You make a sort of comparison between the two there and I really love that implication.

-- the stopped motion of Rose's head after the Doctor grabs her hand as it transitions to another clip. This just seemed so crisp and poignant.

-- your clip choices for the chorus especially. The movement and the editing are really emotional there.

-- the cutting to the regeneration. This sets up a wonderful flow for the second-half of the video

-- your use of subtle zooms and blurs in transitions. You neither had too many nor too few. It was visually stimulating, but not overbearing.

-- the interplay between 9 and 10. Brilliant concept as it highlights that the character is the same and his relationship with Rose is the same.

How did you feel about vidding this song? Did the idea to storyline it like you did come naturally or was it more difficult?

So clearly I was a fool to get other people involved in IJVP this year since your vids are actually fantastic and now I won't have an excuse anymore to continue to make crap. That was awesome, DB. It clean and crisp, it affected me emotionally (I grinned, I ached), and the song seemed like it came directly from the show. My favorite part was your intercutting of the two Doctors checking themselves out in the mirrors. And you used some wonderful expressions from Ten (whom I *still* haven't seen yet, dammit).

Well, honestly, I wish I could do what you did last year. It was truly insane, it was so much fun to tag along for, and you were incredibly brave to just let go while you learned a new program and share it all with us. I'm not being nearly that brave, and therefore will be working about four times as slowly. At least. ;D

Plus I had Pip's to live up to, so I had to put some effort into it. Blame her. ;}

And thank you--that you thought it was crisp is fantastic. I was actually worried it was going to seem messy. And the mirrors! Took me forever to tweak that just the way I wanted, and I still wasn't sure if it would read right. Very happy you liked that part.

And go watch Ten already! If you're behind me now, that's just sad. *eg*

Ok, first, I hope you don't mind, I recced this at who_daily

Second, this is perfect timing (or a conspiracy). I just rewatched the pre-xmas special and the Christmas Invasion yesterday night and heh, had a Dr.Who dream.

Oh my! Just guh! I feel ya on missing Nine. I was a little ambivalent about D.Tennant at first, partly because I was just beginning to get interested in Eccleston's version when the season ended. And now Tennant love is slowly creeping in and eh, on the one hand, it's a very heady feeling, but on the other hand, meep! not another obsession!

I think the interplay between Nine and Ten is my favorite bit. And you picked terrific Rose reaction shots. OMG, the smiles they give each other [sniffles] And the song is lovely.

One of the first things I did when I finished watching the show was go and find Exile so that I could watch it and appreciate it fully. I was not disappointed. :} In fact, I just watched it again, now that I've fully "merged" with the show thanks to the vid-making ;], and it gave me chills. Same goes for your LKBV, which totally chokes me up at this point.

And I'm so happy that vidders whose work I love and admire (like you) are getting into the fandom; there's so much potential there that I can't wait to see what everybody makes of it.

(I expect I'll probably be moved to make a season 2/Ten vid and I know I want to try and find a good Captain Jack song and make a Jack vid, once we have a bit more footage from Torchwood this summer. Squee!! So much upcoming new shiny in this fandom!)
